This position focuses on teaching Snapology programs in a fun and engaging way. The role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents and children with a high degree of professionalism.
After-School & Evening Programs are conducted for children ages 4-14. This position requires availability after school (2:30/3:30 pm to 4:30/5:30 pm) at least 2 days per week to be considered.
Position: The primary focus of a Snapology After School & Evening Instructor is to teach Snapology programs in a fun and engaging way. Instructors promote creativity, teamwork, problem-solving skills and fun while educating students on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts.
Pay: After-School Pay Rate: $35 - $50 per 1 hr Class (approximately 1.75 to 2 hrs time commitment). Evening Class Pay Rate: $30 - $45 per 1 hr Class (approximately 1.5 to 1.75 hrs time commitment).
Role type: This position is part-time. Depending on availability and season, typical hours range from 6-15 hours per week during the school year with potential for additional hours (evening/weekend programming, Summer Camps, administrative tasks).
Responsibilities- Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities
- Transport learning materials to class/workshop/field trip location as needed
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in training sessions
- Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs and encourage enrollment in future programs
- Participate in periodic Snapology training and staff meetings as required
- Criminal and Child Clearances current or willingness to undergo screening (reimbursed)
- 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
- Classroom teaching experience preferred; teachers pursuing a degree in education will be considered
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proven reliability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Reliable transportation capable of transporting materials and supplies
- Ability to lift 20 lbs
