• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples.
• Research test/client information and confirm all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or service directories.
• Accurately complete all data entry requirements, including patient registration and test order entry from requisition.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
• Process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing) as required by test order.
• Maintain accurate data in iLabs for assigned accounts daily to support billing.
• Provide necessary CIR and PPE resolution reporting to the Director on schedule.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory, stock supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures; ensure staff follow instructions.
• Verify patient demographics, initials, and signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling.
• Assist with compiling and submitting monthly statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (e.g., temperature logs) in a timely manner per required frequency.
• Complete training courses and stay current with the latest phlebotomy techniques.
• Travel to Territory Manager meetings if held off‑site or outside normal shift.
• Participate in special projects and teams.
• Stay up‑to‑date on company communications.

• Provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
• Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime.

• Have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if applicable.
• Demonstrate superior customer focus and the ability to communicate openly with peers, supervisors, and patients; embrace change and understand MAKO’s business.

• Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1–15 lbs frequently; 16–25 lbs occasionally; 26–40 lbs seldom; >41 lbs requires assistance).
• Sit or stand for long periods; maintain eye and hand coordination over long hours.
• Perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently throughout the day.
• Travel as required by the position.
• Extensive use of phone and PC.
• Fine dexterity and steadiness of hands.
• Bend, kneel, push, pull, reach, twist as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard and data entry experience.
