Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven HVAC Project Manager to oversee high-value commercial and residential HVAC installation and retrofit projects. In this role, you will be the driving force behind project success—managing operations from pre-construction estimating through final sign-off.

The ideal candidate possesses strong HVAC technical expertise, exceptional crew leadership skills, and sharp financial management abilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at maximum profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Project & Financial Management: Protect project gross profits through rigorous job cost management, labor/material tracking, and risk mitigation.
• Mechanical & Technical Analysis: Read and interpret complex mechanical drawings, architectural blueprints, submittals, and specifications to ensure precise field execution.
• Estimating & Cost Control: Prepare accurate labor and material cost estimates; maintain scope boundary discipline throughout the project lifecycle.
• Change Order Management: Identify scope shifts early, draft comprehensive change order requests, and negotiate client approvals to safeguard project margins.
• Scheduling & Coordination: Build and maintain detailed master project schedules, coordinating material deliveries, equipment staging, and subcontractor timelines.
• Field & Crew Leadership: Direct foremen, field technicians, and subcontractors on-site; provide immediate field problem-solving to prevent project downtime.
• Customer & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, property owners, engineers, and municipal inspectors.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Core Technical Expertise: In-depth HVAC technical knowledge (VRF, chilled water, DX systems, ductwork, controls, and HVAC repair/troubleshooting principles).
• Blueprint Reading: Advanced proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, piping schematics, and structural plans.
• Project Management Skills: Proven track record in project management, scheduling software, job cost accounting, and profit protection.
• Field Management: Strong background in crew/foreman management, job-site safety, and quality assurance.
• Soft Skills: Outstanding customer communication, negotiation, and proactive field problem-solving abilities.
• Experience: 3–5+ years of experience managing HVAC construction or mechanical contracting projects.
