Description

Outreach is a Christian community service organization providing counseling, case management, youth development, older adult services, and community development. For 50 years Outreach has changed the lives of thousands of individuals, children, youth, and families in DuPage County, IL. We are seeking a diverse staff of highly competent professional employees to pursue Outreach’s mission to restore hope and provide opportunities for people to become all that God intends them to be.

Full‑time Elementary Program Director (Bilingual Preferred) at Outreach West Chicago (Puente del Pueblo) to support elementary‑aged students in academic and life skills and provide ongoing supervision for Elementary program staff at Wegner Elementary School and Indian Knoll Elementary School.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and supervise the After‑School and Summer Day School programs at Indian Knoll Elementary School and Wegner Elementary School.
  • Improve the academic performance of students enrolled in elementary programs at Puente del Pueblo.
  • Collaborate with the Puente del Pueblo Education Team on program development.
  • Maintain regular contact with schools and build relationships with parents of students in the programs.
  • Match volunteers in after‑school and summer programs with students for academic support and evaluations.
  • Work with all elementary program staff to develop and implement creative curriculum and teaching methods that engage students from the neighborhood.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in education, youth ministry, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of classroom teaching or group experience with adolescents.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of students from low‑income, high‑risk families and culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in volunteer recruitment and management.
  • Commitment to Outreach’s Statement of Mission and Faith, and attendance at Wheaton Bible Church.
