POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of School Operations and the Mentor Teacher, the Birth to Three Lead Teacher will develop and implement individual educational plans for children, supporting their social, intellectual, linguistic, physical, and emotional development appropriate to their age and stage. The Lead Teacher will ensure all programming requirements meet performance and outcome standards as prescribed by funding and model requirements.

• Participate in training on the Educare Model and curriculum updates.
• Implement curriculum and support lesson planning.
• Provide a dual language classroom model.
• Understand Developmentally Appropriate Practices and Child Development.
• Plan learning experiences that promote development and language acquisition in both Spanish and English.
• Function as an “on-site” Director per DCFS Licensing regulations.
• Guide and facilitate children's activities, including daily routines and field trips.
• Maintain classroom environment, safety, and equipment.
• Conduct assessments, home visits, and parent conferences.
• Participate in school events and team planning.
• Assist in recruiting families and maintaining confidentiality.
• Complete required documentation timely and accurately.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision.
• Support children’s social and self-help skills and ensure a safe outdoor environment.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Physical ability to lift 55 pounds and participate in outdoor activities.
• Experience with diverse populations and bilingual education preferred.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or related field with 18 semester hours in child care and education of children 0-5 years old.
• Knowledge of Infant and Toddler development, early childhood education, and bilingual practices.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Willing to obtain Gateways to Opportunity Early Childhood Education Credential LEVEL 5 within six months.
