The Certified Pharmacy Technician – Pharmacy Liaison position plays a pivotal role as the bridge between patients and pharmacists. Based in the Wausau or Rhindelander, WI area, you will combine customer service excellence with deep pharmacy operations knowledge to reshape the patient experience and contribute to the growth of our specialty pharmacy and overall health system performance.
Essential Responsibilities- Patient Relationship Development and Client Sales – Enroll patients into the Clearway Health Specialty Pharmacy program and expand your patient account base through sales/customer service.
- Sales and Enrollment – Meet enrollment goals, follow up on new business leads and generate leads through provider relationships or direct customer service engagements.
- Patient Retention – Build relationships with patients, deliver medication adherence support tools and provide outbound therapy/medication adherence check‑ups to process refills.
- Personnel Responsibilities – Build and maintain relationships with providers, care teams and ancillary support to ensure continuity of sales and enrollment functions.
- Internal and External Relationships – Develop and nurture trusting relationships, support pharmacy interdepartmental relationships, create strategic partnerships with healthcare professionals and support successful patient care transitions.
- Operational Responsibilities – Navigate the patient EMR, provide documentation for prior authorizations, communicate with healthcare professionals, resolve high‑level patient care issues, work independently, manage workload, meet goals and support new hires.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required; higher education preferred.
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of application.
- Active and unrestricted National Certification verified by PTCB or ExCPT.
- Minimum 2+ years of direct pharmacy experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; professional phone communication.
- Interpersonal skills to provide personalized patient service and explain information clearly.
- Organized, detail oriented, self‑directed, dependable, empathetic, goal‑oriented.
- Cultural sensitivity and discretion with sensitive data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn other relevant applications.
- Knowledge of transplants, hepatitis C, infectious diseases (including HIV), oncology and other specialty medication therapies.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills beyond English.
- Knowledge of prior authorization processes, 340B program, ACO hospital models.
- Familiarity with EPIC, Salesforce, Liberty or other pharmacy/EMR systems.
- May require work on company‑recognized holidays with holiday pay eligibility.
Annual compensation range: $61,300 - $73,600. Actual rate within this range depends on geography, skills, experience and other factors.
