The Jel Sert Company is a long-standing producer of high-quality foods and beverages. We are seeking a Control Systems Technician who will design, create, maintain, and troubleshoot machines that use PLCs to automate processes. This role also involves troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues and performing routine equipment maintenance.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Programming:
  Create and optimize programs that control and monitor machines to improve production efficiency and safety.
• Maintenance:
  Troubleshoot and repair issues with PLC-driven systems.
• Design:
  Reprogram existing machines as needed.
• Support:
  Provide continual support for PLCs in various operational environments.
• Safety:
  Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
• Timely completion of assignments with minimal direction.
• Evaluate machinery and identify necessary improvements.
• Focus on machine efficiency and process improvements.

Experience and/or education

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with electrical, hydraulics, mechanical systems, and PLC programming.
• Experience in manufacturing is required.
• Knowledge in machine elements, instrumentation, hydraulics/pneumatics, shop safety, and work instruction comprehension is preferred.
• Expert PLC knowledge with programming and troubleshooting.
• Experience with: routine preventative maintenance; installing, validating new equipment; machine tear-downs and rebuilds.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
• Knowledge of GMP and safety regulations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to complete and pass skills assessments and job screens.

Benefits & salary

The minimum compensation is $31.01 per hour
. Actual compensation will be determined at offer and based on experience, education, skills, training, and internal equity. Jel Sert offers a comprehensive benefits package that is described during the interview process.
