Process Technician – Food Manufacturing First Shift
Join OSI Group as a Process Technician in our food manufacturing facility. This role monitors and maintains equipment used in dry sausage operations, ensuring optimal product quality and safety.
Job Responsibilities- Ensure uniform air distribution and maintain target temperature and humidity ranges throughout the drying room to achieve optimal drying and mold growth levels.
- Monitor and repair drying room equipment, including PLCs and other control systems, to ensure a 24‑hour operation schedule.
- Test sausage product throughout the process using a variety of measuring equipment and document results.
- Analyze, evaluate, and communicate results from product and equipment monitoring; adjust equipment as needed to reach targeted product specifications.
- Make recommendations to management when equipment needs replacement or improvements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety and environmental requirements associated with the production of dry sausage products.
- Implement and follow appropriate safety procedures, including education, training, use of protective equipment, and adherence to safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 1–3 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
- Understanding of the processes involved in the production of dry sausage products.
- Ability to use and read measurement instruments.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Work performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people, and conveyors.
- Typical food manufacturing facility conditions.
- No domestic travel required.
- Physical agility to perform continuous lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use of hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls, and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
- Physical ability to stand/walk for the duration of work hours.
