We have an opening for a part-time Sewer with flexible hours. This position will be responsible for sewing and assembling aprons and related components for the hospitality industry. The position will start at approximately 20+ hours per week, with hours expected to increase to 35+ hours per week as we get closer to the holidays. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a starting pay rate of $17.50 per hour.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
Job Duties
- Sew and assemble aprons and components promptly and accurately
- Operate industrial sewing equipment
- Read and correctly interpret specifications based on customer orders
- Accurately read and use measuring devices with 1/16” accuracy
- Spot flaws, defects, and color shade differences
- Ensure quality by checking completed work
- Maintain consistent production and quality standards
- Identify process improvements and help develop new ideas
- Work on rush orders as needed
- Follow safety and housekeeping standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous sewing experience required
- Experience operating industrial sewing equipment preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Able to sit, stand, bend, push, pull, pinch, stoop, reach overhead, and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
- Able to reach at or below shoulder level over a cutting table up to 60 inches
- Able to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements required for sewing
- Able to maintain focus and attention to detail for extended periods
- Able to work in a production environment for extended periods
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
- Approximately 20+ hours per week to start
- Hours expected to increase to 35+ hours per week closer to the holidays
- Starting pay: $17.50 per hour
- Temp-to-hire opportunity
