An established and well-supported hospital in West Columbia, South Carolina, is seeking a GI hospitalist for a brand-new inpatient gastroenterology service.
This is a unique opportunity to be the first GI physician onsite and to build a program from the ground up. The position offers the chance to shape clinical operations, establish protocols, and collaborate closely with a local GI group that is transitioning away from inpatient responsibilities while maintaining outpatient follow-ups.
The schedule is flexible, with options for a traditional Monday - Friday model or a potential 7-on/7-off rotation as the program expands. Advanced procedures such as ERCP and EUS are available, but not required.
This is a rare opportunity for a motivated physician to take ownership of a new service line while enjoying the support of a large, high-performing hospital in a thriving community.
