Horizons After school Program Teacher

$13.00/hr – $15.00/hr
General Job Functions- Assist administration in providing an atmosphere conducive to learning and teaching.
- Work 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm during school weekdays as scheduled.
- Be punctual and maintain regular attendance.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize daily assignments and work activities.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies.
- Follow appropriate procedures in the chain of command as designated by board policies and/or administrative procedures.
- Operate a variety of equipment such as a computer, printer, typewriter, two‑way radio, telephone, calculator, etc.
- Present a positive image of East Point Academy at all times.
- Willingly perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Preferred:
Demonstrated competence for the design and implementation of programs and activities required for a successful extended care program.
- Knowledge of the methods, policies, procedures, and activities of East Point Academy pertaining to the position.
- Knowledge of standards, regulations, and laws relating to educational activities.
- Knowledge of records, forms, and reports to be prepared and maintained.
- Knowledge of methods for developing lesson plans and materials, and classroom activities that stimulate learning.
- Ability to supervise students and maintain order in various classroom and instructional activities.
- Ability to operate general office equipment in daily activities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that require constant attention and interaction with students.
- Conduct duties in a school environment with some exposure to environmental conditions.
- Physical demands include walking or standing and lifting or moving items related to the job on a recurring basis.
- Occasional local travel is required; overnight travel is not required.
- Job requires the operation of standard office equipment.
- Supervise students in the classroom and in out‑of‑classroom activities during the school day.
- Supervise instructional assistants, substitutes, and volunteers as assigned.
- Complete assigned work within deadlines in accordance with directives, policy, standards, and prescribed procedures.
- Attend and remain at work regularly, adhering to attendance, absenteeism, and tardiness policies and providing adequate notice for vacation time and leave requests.
