Job Title
HVAC Estimator
Job LocationColumbia, SC
Job DescriptionAir Carolinas, part of the AIR Control Concepts family, offers a chance to support senior estimators and the Sales Team by performing quantity take‑offs, collecting vendor pricing, and ensuring detailed documentation of cost estimates for HVAC systems.
Responsibilities- Gain knowledge of vendor products.
- Assist with material take‑offs and labor cost calculations for HVAC projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project specifications.
- Gather pricing quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
- Input cost data into estimating software and spreadsheets.
- Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards and building codes.
- Work with the Salesperson to secure engineer approval to quote if products are not listed.
- Field calls into the office and handle as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.

- 1‑2 years in HVAC, construction estimating, or related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, and piping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Plan Swift, Blue Beam, and estimating software.
- Strong computer skills including email, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
- Remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time while operating computer and performing office work.
- Move about inside office and at work sites.
- Operate computer and office productivity machinery.
- Lift and/or move up to 15 pounds (occasionally up to 25 pounds).
- Review work for errors and make adjustments.
- Work in low to moderate noise level environments, occasionally high at sites.
