Industrial Engineer – Columbia, SC

Join Flex, a diversified manufacturing partner, to help market-leading brands design, build, and deliver innovative products. As a member of our operations team, you’ll drive productivity improvements through worker, process, and technology solutions.

• Provide process time estimation to the quote team.
• Simulate process, materials, and manufacturing workflow using REFA, MOST, WITNESS, and other tools; advise process engineers.
• Coordinate process planning and set‑up for NPI, focusing on takt, cycle time, and labor requirements.
• Review results during prototyping and trial runs; give feedback to NPI and sales.
• Conduct work measurement programs and develop labor utilization standards.
• Analyze staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data (production costs, flow charts, schedules) to identify efficient worker and equipment use.
• Recommend process improvements, waste reduction, and resource reallocation.
• Collaborate with management and engineering to implement plans and recommendations.
• Develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage administration, and job evaluation.
• Design or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, including plant location optimization.
• Lead initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost, and improve performance via Lean, Automation, Six Sigma projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD and Solid Works.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (up to 50% of projects).
• Experience in medical device manufacturing or related field highly desirable.
