Industrial Engineer – Columbia, SC

Key Responsibilities- Provide process time estimation to the quote team.
- Simulate process, materials, and manufacturing workflow using REFA, MOST, WITNESS, and other tools; advise process engineers.
- Coordinate process planning and set‑up for NPI, focusing on takt, cycle time, and labor requirements.
- Review results during prototyping and trial runs; give feedback to NPI and sales.
- Conduct work measurement programs and develop labor utilization standards.
- Analyze staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data (production costs, flow charts, schedules) to identify efficient worker and equipment use.
- Recommend process improvements, waste reduction, and resource reallocation.
- Collaborate with management and engineering to implement plans and recommendations.
- Develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage administration, and job evaluation.
- Design or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, including plant location optimization.
- Lead initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost, and improve performance via Lean, Automation, Six Sigma projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 6–8 years of experience in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD and Solid Works.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (up to 50% of projects).
- Experience in medical device manufacturing or related field highly desirable.
