We are looking to add a Materials Manager located in Columbia, SC
. Report to the Materials Manager who directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in material planning, distribution, inventory control, material research, purchasing and supply chain management.
- Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
- Manage, control, and direct the activities and staff involved in the distribution of inventory to the production line.
- Manage, control, and direct staff to achieve materials profit and loss goals including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
- Ensure the timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost while maintaining quality standards; diagnose suspicious material and assure proper handling, storage, and delivery.
- Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction through negotiation of customer expectations and directing staff activities required to meet these expectations.
- Coordinate with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers.
- Be in charge of accurate inventory cycle counts and controls.
- Provide proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and material control systems.
- Review, plan, and approve purchase orders and change notices.
- Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Be in charge of disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
- Travel as required.
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
- Typically requires a minimum of eight (8) years of material and manufacturing experience, including supervision.
