We’re looking for a detail‑oriented, hands‑on lithium battery repair technician to diagnose and fix warranty returns, perform firmware testing, and continuously improve our repair processes.
Job SummaryAs a Lithium Battery Repair Technician
, you will diagnose, repair, and test returned batteries, ensuring each product meets safety, quality, and performance standards. You will also support quality control, document repairs, and provide insights for product improvements.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair lithium batteries returned under warranty.
- Replace or refurbish defective components following internal repair protocols.
- Ensure each repair meets company safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Test batteries using specialized equipment and software to confirm firmware functionality.
- Record and resolve firmware‑related issues and report findings to the engineering team.
- Conduct end‑of‑line testing to verify repair effectiveness and product readiness.
- Assist in streamlining returns intake, assessment, and repair processes.
- Identify common failure trends and contribute to root‑cause analysis.
- Provide feedback for product improvements based on repair data.
- Log repair activities and product details into the tracking system for full traceability.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, firmware versions, part replacements, and test results.
- Collaborate with customer service and logistics for coordinated reporting.
- Package repaired batteries safely and in compliance with HAZMAT shipping regulations.
- Label and document repaired units for return shipment to customers or internal use.
- 1–3 years of experience in electronics or battery repair (preferred).
- Understanding of lithium battery systems and basic electronics troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with firmware testing, diagnostic tools, and safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and repair documentation.
- Basic computer proficiency (Excel, Salesforce, Fishbowl).
- Hands‑on technical work in a repair lab or warehouse environment.
- Requires regular handling of lithium batteries and electronic components.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required for certain tasks.
- Ability to lift and move up to 160 lbs. with assistance and perform repetitive tasks.
