Full Time Ferrous, West Columbia, SC, US

The Quality Specialist works closely with the Plant Manger to ensure the strategic vision for Ferrous Engineering and Tool Quality Program is implemented and maintained. This position reports directly to the Quality Control Manager. The Quality Specialist ensures that we are providing a quality product to our customers, implement changes, and be able to maintain accurate and consistent production.

• Manage verification and documentation to verify incoming product accuracy and quality
• Assist in implementing and improving quality system; training, record defects, address quality issues on the production floor.
• Manufacturing and Distribution
• Must comply with all safety rules and regulations
• Ensure that work station and office are 5s/lean.
• Quickly investigate quality issues
• Answer shop floor calls, and send Quality Alerts/Pull Request
• Work closely with engineering and other department heads to ensure quality issues are resolved quickly.
• Help with interim and permanent correct actions
• Assist in the development of FMEAs
• All other duties, as assigned

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Excellent Communication/Organizational Skills
• Must be willing to learn, adapt, and be flexible
• Possess the ability to implement and manage change
• High attention to detail, strong problem solving/conflict resolution skills
• Must have strong computer skills;
  Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Must be energetic, positive, and be ability to think laterally for follow through with reasoned decision making
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
• Basic Print reading skills
• Able to work well under stress and maintain a professional and positive attitude
• Able to maintain confidentiality as required

Work is performed in an operational warehouse environment. Specific job assignments may require day, evening, weekend or holiday hours. Overtime may be required

Team members are constantly standing, walking, carrying, pulling/pushing, bending, seeing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, hearing, as well as handing paperwork. Team members will be lifting objects weighing 50 lbs. or less regularly . Cleaning material and chemicals used regularly.
