Position Summary

The Shift Leader is responsible for assisting the General Manager or Person In Charge (on duty) with management activities and duties. This role works with the Restaurant Management Team to ensure all activities align with the restaurant’s business plan and that all Crew Persons and Team Leaders perform their responsibilities effectively.

Essential Functions

  • Provide quality products and customer service to ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • Enhance the skills and performance of Crew Persons.
  • Support efforts to maximize sales and profits while minimizing controllable costs by assisting management and leading shift activities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures related to business and personnel practices.
  • Model and promote company shared values.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external contacts, demonstrating strong oral and written skills.
  • Attend training to stay current on industry trends.
  • Participate in company meetings, webinars, and conference calls.
  • Perform additional duties or projects as assigned based on business needs.
  • Qualifications and Core Competencies

  • 2-3 years of experience and/or education demonstrating knowledge of restaurant management.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent planning, time management, and team-building skills.
  • Investigative and problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting cash handling issues.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
  • Accessible communication methods (telephone or other).
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Fast-paced environment with kitchen equipment and tight quarters.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, and work around heat.
  • Capable of lifting 50-75 lbs comfortably.
  • Work with various cleaning products.
