We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic for Heavy Trucks in West Columbia, SC.
Compensation- Hourly Pay $32.00-$34.00 per hour, based on experience.
- Overtime paid after 40 hours per week.
- Typical work week is 40-50 hours per week.

- Friday - Typically work 9:30am-6:30pm/7:30pm; work until work is completed. Typically 8-10 hours per day.
- Schedule flexibility may be available based on candidate's needs.
- Work schedule may change based on business needs; must be flexible with work schedule.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform preventive and as-needed maintenance of diesel trucks and electronic vehicles.
- Properly operate the mobile service truck and attend to truck inventory.
- Interpret and follow work orders and technical manuals.
- Travel to locations to perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with management, providing detailed breakdowns of service requirements and costs.
- Maintain schedules and document completed preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance; ensure work meets manufacturer's specifications according to FMCSR.
- Maintain parts and yard organization to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanic working on medium to light duty trucks.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working on air brakes.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing preventative maintenance program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing preventative maintenance program on electronic vehicles preferred, will train.
- Willing to teach and train candidates with a highly motivated attitude.
- ASE certification preferred.
- Knowledge of air, electronic, braking, and suspension systems as well as general mechanical operation and/or light body repair.
- Familiar with FHWA, FMCSR, BIT inspections.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
- Candidate must provide own tools.
- Must have a valid and current US driver's license; no CDL required.
