Position: Diesel Mechanic Heavy Trucks $3K Bonus

We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic for Heavy Trucks in West Columbia, SC.

Compensation
  • Hourly Pay $32.00-$34.00 per hour, based on experience.
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours per week.
  • Typical work week is 40-50 hours per week.

Work Schedule
  • Monday
    - Friday
  • Typically work 9:30am-6:30pm/7:30pm; work until work is completed. Typically 8-10 hours per day.
  • Schedule flexibility may be available based on candidate's needs.
  • Work schedule may change based on business needs; must be flexible with work schedule.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform preventive and as-needed maintenance of diesel trucks and electronic vehicles.
  • Properly operate the mobile service truck and attend to truck inventory.
  • Interpret and follow work orders and technical manuals.
  • Travel to locations to perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with management, providing detailed breakdowns of service requirements and costs.
  • Maintain schedules and document completed preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance; ensure work meets manufacturer's specifications according to FMCSR.
  • Maintain parts and yard organization to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanic working on medium to light duty trucks.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working on air brakes.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing preventative maintenance program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing preventative maintenance program on electronic vehicles preferred, will train.
  • Willing to teach and train candidates with a highly motivated attitude.
  • ASE certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of air, electronic, braking, and suspension systems as well as general mechanical operation and/or light body repair.
  • Familiar with FHWA, FMCSR, BIT inspections.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
  • Candidate must provide own tools.
  • Must have a valid and current US driver's license; no CDL required.
