St. Vincent–St. Mary High School is seeking a dedicated PRN or Part-Time Building Substitute Teacher to support our academic mission and serve as a classroom leader when faculty are absent. The ideal candidate will uphold the school’s Catholic mission and provide meaningful instruction, classroom management, and engagement across various content areas. The Building Substitute ensures continuity of learning by implementing teacher-provided lesson plans and fostering a respectful, faith-centered environment that supports students’ intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual growth.

• Provide instruction and classroom supervision for assigned classes following the teacher’s lesson plans and school guidelines.
• Create and maintain a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment conducive to student success.
• Implement classroom procedures and manage student behavior consistent with school policies and expectations.
• Support differentiated instruction and accommodate students’ varied learning needs.
• Utilize technology and available classroom resources to enhance instruction and student engagement.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of instruction.
• Demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and ethical behavior in all interactions.
• Serve as a positive role model for students, reflecting the values and mission of St. Vincent–St. Mary High School.
• Fulfill other school duties as assigned by administration, including supervision or coverage needs.
• Any other assignment deemed appropriate by the building principal.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (education-related field preferred).
• Valid Ohio substitute teaching certificate (or licensure preferred).
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to different subject areas and grade levels as needed.
• Commitment to the mission and Catholic values of St. Vincent–St. Mary High School.
• Proficiency in using instructional technology and digital learning tools.
• Prior teaching or substitute experience at the high school level preferred.
• The position requires VIRTUS certification and FBI/BCI background check.
