POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Regional Director of Financial Aid Operations, the Regional Associate Director of Financial Aid Operations assists in the management of the Financial Aid Department at designated MFSON campuses. The Regional Associate Director of Financial Aid is responsible for financial aid and student account programs for the College system. Provides leadership, direction and coordination for the organization and delivery of Student Finance programs across the designated campuses.

Creates an environment of consistency and accuracy. Directs and manages all Student Finance operations for the College and ensures compliance with State and Federal guidelines and laws.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides oversight and supervision to the campus Supervisors of Student Finance or Student Finance staff.
  • Would cover assigned Campuses and some travel required.
  • Provides leadership to promote and maintain integrity, accuracy, and timeliness in the delivery of financial aid to students and ensures the packaging process is 100% completed in a timely manner, set by the college, with all applicants.
  • Ensures that campus Student Finance staff and management administer the various financial aid programs and that all financial aid is awarded, authorized, and disbursed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assists in setting student finance goals and objectives for the group and ensures that all goals are met.
  • Ensures that programs are developed to overcome student financial aid issues in order to maintain and promote student retention.
  • Collaborates in the design and maintenance of the Campus’s structures and staffing plans to effectively accomplish SEC’s student finance goals and objectives.
  • Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, and managing the campus Directors of Student Finance.
  • Directs the development of policies and procedures for student finance in order streamline work follow processes.
  • Reviews and approves the plans, development, and implementation of student finance strategies in order to meet short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Ensures the creation of processes, controls, reports, evaluations, and reviews of SEC’s student finance policies and ensures compliance with Federal and State laws.
  • Ensures the student finance departments maintain an exemplary standard of customer service which includes counseling students and parents on financial aid programs, providing detailed information, and answering questions.
  • Ensures the necessary reports regarding financial aid are produced on schedule for management.
  • Fosters and maintains a supportive student-centered atmosphere that is sensitive and responsive to students and their families.
  • Participates in committee meetings.
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Possesses excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications:
    Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Familiarity with telephone systems preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • At least five years of experience in student finance operations with experience directing many different locations.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, methodology, and procedures for the provision of student financial aid.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State financial aid laws.
  • Ability to supervise and direct the activities of others.
  • PC skills in Microsoft Office and financial aid software packages.
  • Excellent mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to set priorities and deadlines and ensures projects are completed.
