Senior Telecommunications Engineer
Jacobs is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineer to design and manage low‑voltage systems for data center buildings, including structured cabling, wireless, audio‑visual, and other low‑voltage applications. This role supports a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and works closely with clients in the Data Center market.

Responsibilities- Lead the design of structured cabling, wireless, audio‑visual, and other low‑voltage systems for data center buildings.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
- Provide technical design leadership, collaborate with BIM designers, and sign and seal telecommunications design packages.
- Prepare and modify DIV 27 specifications, conduct site visits, and review technical documents.
- Mentor junior telecom team members and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase departmental efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Communication Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience designing or leading designs for telecommunications structured cabling systems.
- In‑depth knowledge of ANSI/TIA, BICSI, and NFPA 70 standards.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam and experience providing quality assurance of telecom systems designed by others.
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigation.
- PE license (or ability to obtain multiple PE licenses).
- 4 years of telecommunications design experience in data centers.
- Experience with other low‑voltage systems (security, audio/visual, wireless).
- Knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, and project specification writing (CSI or AIA).
- RCDD credential.
- Experience writing and responding to RFPs and conducting start‑up and commissioning of telecom systems.
