We are seeking an Independent Risk Management Officer with deep expertise in Operational Risk to consult on large-scale, complex risk initiatives. This role supports Independent Risk Management (IRM) across credit risk, operational risk, independent testing, and enterprise risk programs.

You will evaluate multi-dimensional risk challenges, consult with leadership, influence risk strategy, and ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and enterprise-wide policies.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of operational risk experience
, strong analytical capability, and a proven ability to operate within highly regulated environments.

• Provide subject matter expertise for complex, cross-enterprise Operational Risk initiatives

• Analyze multi-faceted risk challenges requiring evaluation of policy, governance, controls, and regulatory expectations.
• Review existing risk processes and propose enhancements to improve oversight, monitoring, and effectiveness.
• Support risk program design and execution across operational risk, credit risk, and independent testing.
• Develop recommendations to address complex risk issues and support long‑term risk strategy.
• Partner with senior leaders across business units, risk teams, and compliance groups.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and enterprise risk frameworks.
• Prepare risk assessments, summaries, reporting, and presentations for senior leadership.

• 5+ years of Risk Management experience (operational risk, enterprise risk, credit risk, compliance, or similar).

• 7+ years of Operational Risk experience (strongly preferred).
• Strong knowledge of risk frameworks and regulatory expectations (OCC, FRB, CFPB).
• Experience in highly regulated environments (banking or financial services preferred).
• Experience in independent risk oversight, issue management, control evaluation, or operational risk testing.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple lines of defense and influence leadership.
• Advanced analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic thinking skills.
