Job Description
OverviewAxis Therapy Centers is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to join our growing team. In this role, you will work with children on the autism spectrum, helping them develop life skills, fine motor skills, and greater independence. This is a deeply rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and their families.
A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy and a valid state license are required. Successful candidates will have current knowledge of treatment practices and therapy programs.
ResponsibilitiesConduct physical and psychological assessments and develop or follow individualized treatment plans.
Assess clients’ home and work environments to determine necessary adjustments.
Recommend adaptive equipment to support daily living activities.
Develop rehabilitation programs to help clients regain or improve functional skills.
Prepare clients for returning to school or work.
Educate caregivers and family members on patient care and therapeutic techniques.
Evaluate client progress and adjust therapy plans accordingly.
Maintain professional knowledge and stay updated on best practices.
Comply with all federal, state, and local certification requirements.
Assess patient conditions related to physical and basic mental health.
RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE- or AOTA-accredited program.
National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
Compliance with all state healthcare regulatory requirements.
Up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work with clients with diverse needs and personalities.
Comfort using computers for documentation and related tasks.
Ability to assess patient conditions and implement treatment plans effectively.
