Exciting news! We are opening an outpatient imaging center in West Des Moines in early April! Come be part of our team as we continue to grow and care for those in our community. Anticipated start date March 2026.
RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Patient Coordinator to join our team. As a Patient Coordinator, you will provide services to patients and referring professionals by greeting customers, registering patients and scheduling/authorizing appointments. This is a full-time position working Monday‑Friday from 8:00 am–4:30 pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Scheduling & Insurance (60%)- Schedule patient examinations according to existing company policy.
- Arrange transportation for patients when appropriate.
- Communicate scheduling changes to the team to ensure highest patient satisfaction.
- Pre‑certify/Authorize all exams with patient’s insurance company as required.
- Verify medical necessity on all exams as required.
- Handle release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following company guidelines.
- Facilitate follow‑up contact with patients for scheduling future appointments as appropriate.
- Greet and check‑in patients scheduled for imaging services; register demographic information and process payment plans and copays with patients.
- Answer phones and handle calls in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain positive interactions at all times with patients, referring offices and staff.
- Support team to ensure highest patient satisfaction.
- Act as liaison between team and patients waiting for exams.
- Maintain the front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies and assisting with general office clean‑up.
- Maintain the supply of patient information sheets.
Additional tasks and projects as required.
Required Qualifications- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- One (1) year experience in a registration or scheduling role, or two (2) years’ relevant and applicable customer service experience in an office environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products;
Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. - Proficiency with using computer systems and typing.
- Previous clinical (healthcare) business office experience.
- Medical terminology experience.
