Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager role at Rehab of Polk County supports end-to-end HR functions for an onsite facility in West Des Moines, IA.

• Screen applications and references and arrange interviews as required or directed.
• Maintain job applications for personnel eligible to work in the facility.
• Conduct employee background checks in accordance with facility policy.
• Develop and implement a facility recruitment, selection, and training plan for qualified personnel.
• Hire personnel according to established facility hiring practices and complete onboarding.
• Maintain a personnel record filing system that supports facility needs and complies with current employment practices.
• Assist with scheduling work hours, personnel, work assignments, and vacation schedules as needed or requested.
• Maintain attendance records and documentation of counseling, warnings, and other disciplinary actions.
• Terminate employees when necessary, ensuring documentation and coordination with the Department Director and Administrator.
• Review time cards for accuracy.
• Review and process payroll for the facility.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred) from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with demonstrated success in human resource management.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to personnel administration in post-acute care settings.

Experience: 3+ years minimum

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
