The Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks a detail-oriented Assessment Data Domain Manager to advance excellence in medical education. The role partners with program staff to manage assessment data quality, develop datasets and analytical tools, and translate data into insights that support student learning and program effectiveness.
What you’ll doData Management
- Serve as a central contact for program‑level data domain management for assessment data and learning analytics.
- Develop and implement best practices for data management, governance, and quality control across assessment systems.
- Partner with campus offices such as ITS, Registrar, and Clinical Affairs to design data workflows and maintain accurate, complete data assets.
- Design processes for data extraction, validation, cleaning, harmonization, and exception handling.
- Provide education and training on data domain concepts, standards, and processes.
Data Analysis
- Collect, code, and manage assessment data to support program processes.
- Analyze and interpret assessment data to identify trends and patterns related to student learning and program outcomes.
- Review assessment data projects for accuracy and completeness according to accreditation guidelines.
- Create data visualizations and draft reports for distribution to key stakeholders.
- Master’s degree with at least three years of experience as an assessment data analyst, or equivalent education and experience.
- Two to three years of experience in an education environment, preferably with competency‑based data and higher education.
- Proficiency in data governance, data quality, metadata, and master data management.
- Excellent data collection, reconciliation, analysis, and reporting skills.
- Experience with database development, statistical software, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power
BI, Tableau, Mural) and coding languages (SQL, Python).
Starting salary within the range of $75,000–$80,000. Additional benefits include medical plan, 10% retirement match, flexible work arrangements, tuition assistance, professional development funding, and wellness facilities.
