Acute Care RN – 4th Floor – Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse – Sign on Bonus
Mercy One invites you to apply for the Acute Care RN position on the 4th floor of the cardiac telemetry unit. The role includes a sign‑on bonus of up to $20,000 and a relocation bonus.

- 12‑hour night shift (7 PM – 7 AM)
Provides safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Manages a diverse patient population, including post‑operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members.
Essential Functions- Conduct initial assessment and complete admission assessment database within 24 hours.
- Identify patient problems, develop outcome‑based plan of care, and prioritize nursing interventions.
- Implement plan of care including procedures, treatments, nursing orders, and medications.
- Coordinate implementation of plan of care with interdisciplinary team members.
- Manage telemetry and cardiac monitoring when applicable.
- Communicate relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document discharge instructions and participate in discharge planning.
- Demonstrate competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring.
- Assist with data collection and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain safe working environment and adhere to safety policies.
- Associate degree in nursing required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. - Current Iowa RN license required; current Illinois license if working in IL.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required only if unit has telemetry monitoring capabilities. - Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
- High language, intermediate to high math, high critical thinking ability. Basic computer skills required.
- Lift/Carry;
Push/Pull 76 – 100 % of the time, average 50 – 100 lbs. - Stand;
Walk/Move About 76 – 100 % of the time. - Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
