Job Title:
Lead Low Voltage Technician
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Low Voltage Technician to oversee and execute the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to safety and quality. The ideal candidate will lead a team of technicians, ensure project timelines are met, and maintain high standards of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities- Installation & Maintenance
:
Install, test, and maintain low voltage systems including but not limited to security systems, access control, CCTV, fire alarms, intercoms, data cabling, and audio/visual systems. - Project Leadership
:
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a team of low voltage technicians on job sites. - Project Planning
:
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute installations. - Troubleshooting
:
Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions and performance issues efficiently. - Client Interaction
:
Communicate with clients, contractors, and project managers to ensure expectations are met and issues are resolved promptly.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in low voltage systems installation and service.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proficiency with tools and equipment used in low voltage installations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET, BICSI, OSHA 10/30) are a plus.
- Work may involve climbing ladders, lifting heavy equipment, and working in confined spaces.
- Travel to various job sites is required.
- May involve occasional evening or weekend work depending on project deadlines.
- Experience with structured cabling, fiber optics, and wireless systems.
- Familiarity with project management software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
This is a Contract position based out of West Des Moines, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 – $30.00/hr.
