Job Title: Tennis Teaching Professional/Assistant Head Pro

Supervisor: Head Tennis Professional

Supervises: No direct reports. Partners with Head Tennis Professional to develop and schedule part-time coaching staff.

Overview

The Tennis Teaching Professional/Assistant Head Pro interacts with members through teaching lessons, clinics, and tournaments, and actively helps in coach, player, and program development. Member experience is the Tennis Professional’s primary responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Teaches tennis approximately 30-35 hours per week.
  • Approximately 5-10 admin hours per week (including but not limited to one Pro Shop shift per week).
  • Teach and assist with program planning and communication, group lessons, private lessons, and assist with any Junior and Adult program events as needed.
  • Help coordinate and run USTA tournaments, social events, and other programming.
  • Collaborate with the Head Tennis Professional and team to design, implement, and refine the Junior Tennis Program.
  • Teach and assist with planning camps (summer, winter, and special holiday camps).
  • Organize and lead small group Junior Tournament travel squads.
  • Partner with the team to deliver members and their guests a great experience.
  • Stay up to date with industry teaching developments and incorporate them into teaching.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Tennis Professional.
Qualifications
  • Positive, encouraging, organized, highly motivated, prompt, and enthusiastic.
  • Able to deliver information clearly, concisely, and timely.
  • A customer service attitude and passion for the sport of tennis.
  • Available to work a full schedule year-round, including nights and weekends.
  • Minimum 1 year of tennis coaching experience with all ages and skill levels (preferred).
  • USTA NTRP of 4.5+ or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • College tennis experience required.
  • PTR, USPTA or ITF Certification (or willingness to become and maintain certification).
  • Safe Play approved (or willingness to become and maintain approved status).
  • Willing to drive vehicles up to 12-passenger vans for group tournament travel.
