Dissertation Supervisor – Business & Tourism

Join GEDU Global Education as a Dissertation Supervisor supporting students through the research and writing of their dissertations. You will help shape future professionals in Business and Tourism Management and work with adult learners from diverse backgrounds.

£250 per student, covering supervisory time, marking of drafts, and ad-hoc meetings.

London (West and East), Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds – On‑site.

• Define and refine students’ research questions and objectives.
• Guide on suitable research methodologies and ethical considerations.
• Assist with literature reviews and sourcing relevant materials.
• Provide structured feedback on dissertations and monitor progress.
• Ensure dissertations meet academic, institutional and PSRB standards.
• Maintain regular contact with students, encouraging independent thinking.
• Identify and address academic or personal challenges.
• Promote inclusive and supportive learning environments.

• Qualified to at least a Masters Level degree in a related discipline.
• Demonstrable experience in academic research and dissertation supervision.
• Experience working in Higher Education.
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methodology.
• Knowledge of statistical programmes and secondary data analysis.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of research ethics, methodologies, and academic writing conventions.
• Understanding of, and passion for, higher education and working with diverse, mature students from widening participation backgrounds.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends, evenings, and travel to campuses.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft packages.

• External examiner experience.
• Relevant industry experience.
