Senior Accountant; temp

Seeking a fully Qualified Accountant who has ideally worked within public sector to join our client for 3 months. Please note, full commitment is required for the 3 months.

Lead the development, review, and implementation of key financial policies and processes across the Authority. Provide expert, authoritative advice to the Finance Manager and Director of Finance and Corporate Resources, senior leadership, and Members on complex financial matters

• Lead on the preparation and deliver on a timely basis the revenue and capital monthly and annual budget monitoring reports, and Authority Reports.
• Lead and report on the PAYT and WTD reconciliations completed, and discrepancies investigated.
• To meet regularly with budget holders and lead on discussions around their financial results and agree ways of improving results, with clear action plans designed if required.
• Leading, managing and coordinating work to deliver on the Authority's budget setting process. This will involve working with budget holders to lead them through the budget process, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Leading, managing and coordinating work to deliver the Authority's annual Statement of Accounts in accordance with strict statutory deadlines; to ensure compliance with highly complex regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
• Lead on ensuring accurate monthly reporting of the budget monitoring report to the Senior Leadership Team along with the Authority KPIs.
• Lead and prepare the annual KPIs with relevant stakeholders for approval at Authority.
