Position: Site Safety Coordinator (Renewables Construction - Nationwide Opportunities!)

Overview

Responsible for assisting the Safety Managers in all job-site office related safety matters. Conduct site safety orientation, basic safety trainings, job safety analysis, workplace audits and incident responses as needed.

Location & Travel Details:
You will travel across the US to support renewable projects, working onsite for up to 100% of the time. Projects last an average of 8–12 months, with daily per diem and routine travel home. This role is eligible for routine travel home (rotation) from the jobsite.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and present safety training, including New Hire Orientation, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory, and other client requirements.
  • Lead safety initiatives, creating enthusiasm and participation among management and craft workers to achieve excellent safety performance.
  • Assist with incident report input and review.
  • Execute jobsite safety plans and maintain safety documentation accuracy.
  • Apply lockout/tagout procedures safely.
  • Communicate safety matters with Wanzek management.
  • Track daily inspections, SOPs, safety meetings, and enter data into appropriate systems.
  • Administer recognition systems (e.g., Good Catch) with Safety Managers.
  • Order PPE and safety equipment supplies as needed.
  • Pull safety report data and compile detailed documents for Safety Managers.
  • Collect drug screen samples when required.
  • Implement the site‑specific emergency response plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of construction experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Commit to Zero Injury principles and protect health and safety of yourself and others.
  • Functional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Type and write reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.
Working Environment
  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
