Long Term Substitute – Grade 3 – West Fargo Public Schools
The Long-term Substitute covers the absence of the classroom educator while providing instruction and assistance to learners and managing classroom activities and behaviors.

Responsibilities- Develop positive, effective working relationships with learners and staff.
- Engage with district staff in the professional learning community process.
- Communicate instructional purpose of lessons and make connections to prior learning.
- Engage learners in meaningful direct instruction, guided practice, and independent practice.
- Utilize questions, discussions, and dialogue that promote critical thinking and diverse perspectives.
- Empower learners to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic learners, and ethical users of information.
- Plan and deliver curriculum that meets individual learner needs and district standards.
- Foster a safe, equitable classroom environment and maintain behavior plans.
- North Dakota Substitute Teaching License is required.
- North Dakota Teaching License is preferred.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred.
- Prior experience working in an elementary school setting preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence in English.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and expressively.
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, talk, and hear.
- Specific vision abilities include close and peripheral vision.
- May lift up to approximately 30 pounds.
- Work with the public and various staff while managing competing demands.
- May come in contact with blood borne pathogens or other bodily fluids on rare occasions.
- Work in an environment with a quiet to loud noise level.
- North Dakota Substitute Teaching License is required.
- North Dakota Teaching License is preferred.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred.
