The Transportation Group Leader is responsible for the supervision, administration, planning, budgeting and performance of our transportation production/technical group that supports Minnesota project work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage s, s upervise s, and e valuate s the employees in our transportation production group.

Provides frequent and candid coaching , performance feedback, and mentorship to assigned group

Make s staff ing adjustments in their practice/service area with concurrence of Senior Transportation Group Leader and the Human Resources group

Ensure s adherence to all company standards and practice design/production standards , procedures , and policies

Builds project teams by assigning group production employees /resources to project managers

Assist s project manager s by developing and reviewing scopes, schedules and time budgets for work to be executed in their group

Monitor s team performance to e nsure group ’s adherence to agreed upon scopes, schedules , and budgets

Ensure s accuracy of deliverables by adhering to all QA/QC procedures for all work products developed in their group

Collaborate s with and mentor s group production employees to develop efficient and effective design solutions

Monitor s group workload and maintain s appropriate staffing levels

Stays current on new products, technologies, innovations , and developments in their practice area

Develop s and coordinate s with the Practice Leader on training needs and budget to ensur e proper training of employees in their group

Make recommendati ons to Senior Group Leader regarding utilization goals, design programs/tools, and training needs and budgets

Maintain s regular communication with other Group Leaders in their office and other Group Leaders in their practice area in other offices to balance workload and share expertise and resources

Maintain s regular communication with the Practice Leader to improve project execution and delivery

Participate s in the RFP/RFQ process including , site visits, client meetings, scope development, preparation of project approach, technical execution plans , schedules , and interviews

Serve s as Lead Engineer /Technical Project Lead , as needed , on a project-by-project basis

Maintain s regular communication with the Chief Production Officer

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field

10 years of engineering experience in their practice area is preferred

Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State where the office is located or ability to obtain within six months , as applicable

Complete and thorough knowledge of the principles and practice s of engineering as it relates to their practice area

Demonstrated a bility to successfully s upervise and m entor employees

Compensation

For Minnesota residents:
