KandK Construction and Repair, Inc. is looking for a motivated individual to operate a plasma table. An understanding of how to interpret drawings and specifications of all products being fabricated is preferred, but the company is willing to train the right applicant. The operator will help ensure the production process is smooth and that the finished product matches blueprints. Math skills are helpful for calculating materials for fabrication.

Other duties may be assigned by management. The role involves operating computer-controlled machines to perform functions on metal sheets.

• Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Remove and replace dull cutting tools.
• Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machines malfunction.
• Stop machines to remove finished work pieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement according to required machining sequences.
• Lift work pieces to machines manually or with hoists or cranes.
• Modify cutting programs if necessary during operation and save modified programs.
• Calculate machine speed and feed ratios and the size and position of cuts.
• Enter commands or retrieve programmed instructions and transfer commands from servers to CNC modules using network links.
• Review program specifications or blueprints to determine and set machine operations.

• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications of fabricated products.
• Willingness to learn; company is willing to train the right applicant.
• Math skills for calculating materials and fabrication requirements.
• Experience with CNC/computer-controlled machines is beneficial, but not required.
