Controller, Nonprofit – CAAS

Overview

Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting. Coordinate and direct financial planning, budgeting, procurements, or investment activities for all or part of an organization. Prepare financial information and statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies. Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and recommend.

Monitor KPI and evaluate performance of accounting and other financial staff. Advise management on short‑term and long‑term financial objectives, policies, and actions. Communicate with boards, bankers, investors, and constituents; prepare and host board presentations. Require frequent local travel and occasional non‑local or overnight travel for client visits, training, and meetings.

• Bachelor’s degree required. Combination of related experience, education, and training accepted in lieu of degree.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• 6 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience required (Nonprofit industry and back‑office accounting highly preferred). Public accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Quick Books and applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong organization, goal orientation, self‑motivation, ability to handle pressure, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork relationship management.
