We’re seeking a proactive, organized, and compassionate Legal Assistant to join our team and support our expanding caseload. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a purpose-driven environment and takes pride in providing high-quality legal and administrative support.
Position Overview
:
We are hiring a full-time Legal Assistant to assist with legal and administrative work across multiple practice areas, including child protection, estate planning, probate, and business law. This role is in-person at our West Hartford office. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, compassionate, and able to work independently while maintaining professionalism in client communication.
Key Responsibilities
:
- Assist attorney with casework in estate planning, probate, business law, and child protection
- Draft and organize legal documents such as wills, trusts, motions, contracts, and court forms
- Manage the intake process for court-appointed child protection cases
- Communicate with clients by phone and email with empathy and professionalism
- Review, summarize, and maintain organized case files
- File legal documents with courts and agencies
- Coordinate client meetings, document signings, and filings
- Maintain accurate records in document management and CRM using Clio, Go High Level , Google Suite, and other systems
- Track case deadlines, court dates, and follow-ups
- Collaborate with attorney, associate, and virtual assistant to prioritize weekly tasks
Qualifications
:
- 1–2+ years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant (internships acceptable with strong references)
- Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Experience with legal document prep, e-filing, calendaring, and client communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google Docs, and Clio (or similar legal software)
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a values-driven and service-oriented office
- Able to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team in the West Hartford, CT office
Preferred Qualifications
:
- Familiarity with child protection law, probate, or estate planning
- Paralegal Certificate or Legal Studies degree (completed or in progress)
- Spanish speaking is a plus
- Open to supporting our mission-driven work as a Christian founded company including moments of prayer or spiritual encouragement with clients (when appropriate)
Schedule
:
- Preferred schedule:
Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM - Occasional flexibility depending on attorney schedule
