Accounting Supervisor Position Overview

Our client, known for putting employees first, is looking for an Accounting Supervisor. This growing organization is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join as it grows. This role is responsible for leading entity accounting and reporting activities while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong service delivery to both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings a blend of hands‑on accounting expertise and people leadership, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help lead and manage monthly accounting and financial reporting
  • Supervise and support a small team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, oversight, and performance feedback
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert
  • Review and manage team workloads to ensure deadlines and reporting standards are consistently met
  • Serve as the main point of contact for client reporting inquiries from external partners and internal operations teams
  • Oversee accounting activities related to new openings, closures, and transitions
  • Direct initial reporting setup and ongoing requirements for newly onboarded entities
  • Partner with tax specialists to ensure timely and accurate completion of all required filings and payments
  • Review financial statements, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the team
  • Participate in profit and loss discussions, providing insights and analysis
  • Conduct regular one‑on‑one check‑ins with direct reports to support development and accountability
  • Contribute to leadership discussions and participate in process improvement initiatives at both the regional and departmental level
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with a strong understanding of GAAP
  • Prior experience leading or supervising staff is preferred
Competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and manage accounting staff
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to represent the organization effectively
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities and changing deadlines
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and levels of the organization
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, along with strong working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and related tools
