As a Cook at Saint Mary Home, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals to our residents. Your responsibilities will include preparing food in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines, as well as our established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook a variety of meals in large quantities.
- Follow dietary guidelines and procedures to accommodate residents' nutritional needs.
- Prepare specialized textures, including purees, mechanical soft, and other modified diets as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food service area.
- Ensure proper care and use of kitchen supplies and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in large-scale cooking preferred.
- Knowledge of dietary procedures, food safety regulations, and modified texture diets.
- Previous experience in long-term care or working with the geriatric population is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
