Job Summary
Performs a wide range of financial functions within the company, as well as assisting management with various tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently while consistently delivering results within established deadlines.
Essential Functions- Prepare monthly beverage tax and escheat tax returns.
- Prepare and post necessary journal entries to the GL and maintain supporting schedules for asset and liabilities accounts.
- Prepare monthly bank, accounts receivable and accounts payable reconciliations.
- Maintain capital expenditure and fixed asset registers.
- Review and reconcile company payables.
- Monitor account balances to ensure adequate cash flow and liquidity.
- Prepare annual 1099’s and maintain W9 Records.
- Prepare monthly financial statements for management to assist in measuring business profitability.
- Prepare for and assist in completion of yearly financial statement review by external accounting firm.
- Assist with a range of accounting functions as needed, including invoicing, applying payments, processing vendor invoices and issuing checks.
- Maintain the General Ledger and Accounts Payable systems to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Assist outside sister companies as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned, in order to contribute to the team effort.

Communication SkillsAbility to read and comprehend in English simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to customers and fellow employees at Star Distributors, Inc.
Math SkillsAble to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, volume, etc.
Physical DemandsAble to sit for prolonged periods. Able to climb stairs and move throughout the building.
Skills and Abilities- Computer literate. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Experience in Quick Books Desktop is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of AS400 is a plus.
- Must be a self-motivated individual, with the ability to work efficiently and independently, while also contributing to the team’s success.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to travel to various in-state work sites as needed.

Two years of college or more, with 2 years + accounting experience.
