Good Samaritan University Hospital (GSUH) is a 537-bed teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health. Located approximately 40 miles from the heart of New York City, in West Islip, Long Island, NY, GSUH serves a diverse community with a strong emphasis on evidence‑based practice and exceptional quality of care.

Salary Range: $350,000-$380,000

Responsibilities
  • Support and expand a Pediatric Neurology service at the Hospital, the Center for Pediatric Specialty Care, and at any additional outpatient sites as requested.
  • Provide and monitor treatment plans, collaborating with technical and clinical support professionals.
  • Participate in on‑call coverage, ensuring 24‑7 availability for both inpatient and outpatient evaluation and advising the Department Chairman on scheduling.
  • Be available as Chief of the division, ensuring administrative and clinical issues are promptly resolved.
  • Maintain and approve vacation schedules to guarantee adequate division coverage.
  • Provide services to the highest standard, adhering to ethical principles of the medical profession.
  • Ensure high‑quality care by physicians and allied health professionals in pediatric neurology.
  • Participate in continuing medical education programs relevant to pediatric neurology.
  • Continue to develop and grow the neurology division, advancing the EEG/video EEG program at GSUH and Catholic Health.
  • Oversee division quality assurance and determine policy and protocols for outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Schedule and participate in the continuous evaluation and expansion of scheduling at the Center for Pediatric Specialty Care.
  • Act as liaison to pediatricians and other specialists.
  • Identify areas of growth and expertise to enhance quality of care and market share for the division.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and the actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, training, licensure, certification, competencies, and other relevant experience. The salary range listed does not include bonuses or other compensation.
