Nocturnist Physician

Responsibilities:

• The hospital supports six (6) closed intensive care units including: a cardiothoracic ICU, a neuroscience ICU, a pediatric ICU, a neonatal ICU, a surgical ICU, and a medical ICU.
• Subspecialty support in all medical/surgical areas including but not limited to: endocrinology, cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology, urology, interventional radiology, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, oral & maxillofacial surgery, orthopedic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery and cardiothoracic surgery.
• The GSUH hospitalist leads an interdisciplinary team in the comprehensive care of admitted medical patients.
• The team consists of over twenty full time hospitalists and is expanding to meet the needs of our community.
• The hospital has broken ground on a new patient care pavilion that will be completed in 2025.
• There is advanced practice professional (nurse practitioner and physician assistant) support in all areas and residency programs in:
• Emergency medicine, family practice, podiatry, pediatrics and obstetrics and gynecology.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice medicine in New York State
• Board Certified or Board eligible within 3 years with training in internal medicine or family practice
• New resident graduates are welcome.
• BCLS and ACLS certified from American Heart Association. No online courses are accepted.
