Instructional Para educator – Mountain Heights Academy

An online charter school is now accepting applications for a part-time Special Education Paraprofessional. Mountain Heights Academy is a tuition‑free, online public charter school available to all Utah students in grades 7–12. Founded in 2009, it is a leader in digital education, known for high standardized test scores, unparalleled teacher interaction, and personalized instruction. Coursework is divided into weekly modules, empowering students to complete assignments at their own pace within each week.

As a paraprofessional, your primary responsibility is to engage with and support Special Education middle school and high school students in their coursework. You will work in a variety of classes and must demonstrate a firm understanding of the high school core curriculum. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will interact with case managers, team members, and students. You should be detail‑oriented, open to feedback, collaborative, self‑motivated, and organized.

The position is virtual, but in‑person meetings at the Mountain Heights offices in West Jordan are required twice a month.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working with students or in a Special Education setting
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of High School core content subjects (English, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies)
• Proficient with Google Drive, Google Sheets, and related tools
