Driver Trainer

Strive Supply Chain are a leading management recruitment consultancy, specialising in Supply Chain, Production, Planning, Logistics, Transport & Warehouse Operations. Our client is a leading FMCG Distribution business recruiting for a Driver Trainer at their head office in Lancaster to provide training for drivers through assessments, one-to-one coaching and classroom training.

You will be working 2-3 days per week, which will be discussed at interview stage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess new drivers during the recruitment process to identify training needs.
  • Provide training and mentoring for new and existing drivers with a respectful and kind approach.
  • Conduct inductions for all new drivers, completing all relevant training documents.
  • Carry out unannounced gate checks with drivers and vehicles.
  • Plan and deliver driver training program in line with driver CPC requirements and company programme in both classroom and field-based environments.
  • Record all training, ensuring consistency and up-to-date records are kept and given to Operation Teams.
Ideal Person For

The Role Of Driver Trainer
  • Previous experience as an HGV Driver Trainer with Assessment Related qualifications (QTS, CET, DET, AET) or membership of a recognised trainer register (RADAT, RHA, NRI) or any other recognised driver training qualification.
  • Hold CPC qualification and a full UK HGV C+E driving licence.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating strong IT and communication skills.
  • Keep up to date with developments in training, e.g., reading relevant journals, attending meetings and courses.
  • Confident in face-to-face and remote delivery.
  • Good working knowledge of current legislation.
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication.
