Job Description

The primary role of the BCC Media Team is to support and enhance the communication, promotion, and media presence of the cultural center. This position provides students with valuable real‑world experience in a dynamic cultural environment, offering hands‑on opportunities to develop skills in media production, content creation, and digital communication.

Prerequisite(s)

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in customer service.

Position Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

  • Graphic Designer
  • Create visually engaging graphics for events, programs, and digital communications that align with branding guidelines.
  • Develop promotional materials (flyers, posters, digital slides, merchandise concepts) and revise designs based on feedback.
  • Collaborate with the media team to ensure consistent visual identity across platforms.
  • Newsletter Writer
  • Draft, edit, and format weekly newsletters highlighting events, resources, and student stories.
  • Conduct brief interviews or gather content from BCC staff, students, and program participants to ensure accurate and engaging storytelling.
  • Manage newsletter deadlines and coordinate with the media team to incorporate graphics, photos, and announcements.
  • Write articles for the print newsletter.
  • Social Media Assistant
  • Plan, draft, and schedule posts across platforms to promote BCC programs and amplify student voices.
  • Monitor engagement, respond to messages, and track analytics to inform content strategy.
  • Capture photos and short videos at events to support timely, authentic content.
  • Handle emergency situations and prioritize responsibilities while continuing to provide the highest level of customer service.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professional conduct when handling sensitive information.
  • Responsible for all scheduled shifts (based on class/exam schedules for the semester).
  • Actively participate in and attend BCC sponsored programs and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
