Department of Psychological Sciences Two Open Area Positions:
Tenure-Track Assistant Professor or Tenured Associate Professor, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN
Principal Duties: Purdue University’s Department of Psychological Sciences invites applications for two tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to begin in the Fall of 2024. The area of research is open. The selected candidates are expected to use advanced quantitative methods and contribute to one or more of the graduate training programs in the department. The successful candidates will be expected to conduct original research, mentor students, and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses.

Qualifications: The candidates must have a Ph.D. in psychology or a related field by the position start date. In addition, the candidates should demonstrate the ability and/or potential to publish high-quality research, obtain external funding, and excel in teaching and mentoring. Area of research expertise is open. Candidates will be expected to contribute to one or more of our six graduate training programs:
Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Mathematical and Computational Psychology, Neuroscience and Behavior, and Social Psychology. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in advanced quantitative methods who will contribute to graduate training by teaching advanced statistics courses.
The Department, College, and University: The Department of Psychological Sciences (hhs.purdue.edu/psy/ ) is consistently ranked among the top psychology programs in the world. The Department is collegial and diverse, composed of over 50 tenured/tenure-track, clinical, and research faculty, over 70 graduate students, and over 1200 undergraduate student majors. Research and doctoral training are conducted in the areas of Clinical Psychology (APA and PCSAS-accredited), Cognitive Psychology, I-O Psychology, Mathematical and Computational Psychology, Neuroscience and Behavior, and Social Psychology.
Faculty in Psychological Sciences are also involved in a wide range of cross-campus initiatives, including Advanced Methods at Purdue ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). ), the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Science Consortium (hhs.purdue.edu/diversity-equity-and-inclusion/dei-science-consortium/ ), Center for Research on Brain, Behavior, and Neuro Rehabilitation (CEREBBRAL; ), Purdue Autism Research Center (hhs.purdue.edu/autism/ ), and Purdue Institute for Integrative Neuroscience ( ). Faculty regularly lead and collaborate on funded grants across disciplines (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Computer Science) and multiple campuses (Purdue Northwest, Purdue Indianapolis).
Opportunities also exist for partnering with the HHS Extension office, which offers programs to enhance the well-being of individuals, families and communities in each of Indiana’s 92 counties. The Department awards Bachelors, Masters, and PhD degrees.
