Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Indiana Veterans' Home, West Lafayette, IN

Join our dedicated team to provide compassionate care to veterans.

• Prioritize and organize the daily care of patients.
• Assign patient care and assist in developing treatment plans in collaboration with clinical staff.
• Document ongoing assessments of patients' physical and psychosocial status from admission to discharge.
• Coordinate support staff workflow and communicate problems to unit supervisors.
• Administer medications and treatments according to hospital policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans for acute medical problems.
• Complete medication administration supervision monitors and clinical observation notes for support staff.
• Ensure required documentation of nursing notes, transfer forms, and other records.
• Educate patients and family members about medication, procedures, and treatment goals.
• Respond to emergency situations and manage agitated patients.
• Provide orientation and support to new staff.
• Maintain unit safety and infection control standards.

• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited college.
• Licensed Practical Nurse license in the State of Indiana.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current behavioral intervention training.
• Proficiency in computer skills and electronic medical records.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand and apply medical and facility terminology.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and electronic patient records.
• Patient advocacy skills.
• Knowledge of nursing and facility policies and procedures.
• Additional knowledge may be required based on the population served (children, adolescents, geriatrics, etc.).
