Klondike Kennels is searching for an enthusiastic Kennel Assistant Manager to join our expanding team. In this role, you’ll manage the day-to-day operations, work hands-on with our furry guests, and lead a great team of pet enthusiasts. As the primary point of contact for our clients, you’ll ensure everything runs smoothly, from overseeing feeding schedules to maintaining clear communication, and yes, giving the occasional belly rub (to the pets, not the team).

Job Requirements:

  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to handle a variety of breeds and sizes
  • Physical stamina- this job can be physically demanding yet equally emotionally rewarding
  • A passion for animals
  • Must be flexible and available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, school breaks and holidays; including before, day of, and the days after Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s and Spring Break

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Customer service i.e. answering phones and email, scheduling appointments, and taking payments
  • Training team members on safety, feeding, and pet handling procedures
  • Cross training as a Daycare Monitor
  • Overseeing medications and checking vaccine records
  • Collaborating with higher management and team members to ensure excellent customer service
  • Monitoring changes in the health and behavior of pets boarding with us
