Laboratory assistant in Plant Evolutionary Genetics
A laboratory manager/technician position is available in the Hancock Lab. Research in the lab aims to dissect the genetic basis and evolutionary history of complex traits, with a particular focus on adaptive evolution in response to challenging and extreme environments.
Approaches used in the lab include NGS sequencing, trait‑mapping using natural and recombinant populations, functional analysis using methylome and transcriptome sequencing, CRISPR, computational modeling, and population genetic analysis.
The successful candidate will assist with ordering, managing and maintaining biological resources (seed stocks and reagents), preparing samples for sequencing, assisting in the production of recombinant populations and CRISPR mutants, and supporting large‑scale phenotyping projects.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, has relevant experience, and is highly organized and detail‑oriented.
Start date is November 17, 2025 or later.
