Overview

Senior Audio/Visual Technician - Purdue University, Botany and Plant Pathology Department

Purdue University is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Audio/Visual Technician to lead the installation, maintenance, and operation of audio-visual systems that support classrooms, meeting spaces, and events. You will design and oversee AV infrastructure, manage service part inventories, and ensure accurate service documentation. You will also mentor and train student employees, while providing leadership to junior AV technicians during field installations and event setups.

Education and Experience

Required:

• High School Degree or High School Equivalency (HSE)
• Four (4) years of audio visual, IT, or related experience
• Experience with troubleshooting and repair of a wide range of audio-visual related equipment

• Knowledge of AV equipment
• Knowledge of Windows/Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of computer networks
• Demonstrate excellent service attitude and ability to interact with faculty, staff, and students
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair AV equipment
• Ability to work under constant time constraints
• Ability to read or learn to read schematics and interpret technical manuals
• Ability to work independently or in a team
